Lucinda married Meredith Lewis Sr., son of Alfred Lewis and Mary (Little Granny) Holly. Meredith was born in 1838 in Copiah County, Hazlehurst, Copiah, Mississippi, United States and died in 1938 in Copiah County, Wesson, Copiah, Mississippi, United States, at age 100.

Children from this marriage were:

          i.  Henderson Lewis was born Sep 1862 in Mississippi. Henderson married Melvina. Melvina was born in Jun 1867.

         ii.  Mollie Lewis was born Apr 1864 in Copiah County, hazlehurst, MS. Mollie married Tillman in 1886. Tillman was born in Copiah County, Hazlehurst, Ms. Mollie next married Peoples in 1902. Peoples was born in Hammond, La.

        iii.  SR. Felix Lewis was born in Apr 1866 in Copiah County, Wesson, Copiah, Mississippi, United States. Felix married Ella Lynch in 1890 in Copiah County, Hazlehurst, Copiah, Mississippi, United States. Ella was born in Jan 1874 in Mississippi.

         iv.  John Henry Lewis was born in Jan 1867 in Hazlehurst, Copiah, Mississippi, United States. John married Silvey. Silvey was born in Nov 1869 in Mississippi.

          v.  Curtis Lewis was born in 1869.

         vi.  Sherman Lewis was born in May 1872 in Beauregard, Mississippi Copiah County and died in Aug 1941 in Copiah County, Wesson, Copiah, Mississippi, United States, at age 69. Sherman married Elizabeth Tyner in Copiah County, Wesson, Copiah, Mississippi, United States. Elizabeth was born in Jul 1877 in Hazlehurst, Copiah, Mississippi, United States and died in 1945 in Copiah County, Wesson, Copiah, Mississippi, United States, at age 68.

         ix.  Stephen Lewis was born 09 Apr 1877 in copiah county, Beauregard, Ms and died Feb 1868 in Detroit, Michigan. Stephen married Emma Rosella Jones Married 1907. Emma was born 1884 in Mississippi and died 1945 in Indinapolis, IN, at age 61.

          x.  Fannie Lewis was born 08 Mar 1879 in copiah county, Beauregard MS. and died 1949 in New Orleans, La. Fannie married William Rial in 1899. William was born in 1899 and died 09 Feb 1900 in Utica, Ms, at age 1. Fannie next married Robert Tyner in 1901. Robert was born in 1901 and died 1904 in Hinds Edwards, Ms, at age 3. Fannie next married Washington Burns in May 1906 in Hazlehurst, Copiah, Mississippi, United States. Washington was born about 1970 and died in 1921 in Hazlehurst, Copiah, Mississippi, United States, about age -49.

         xi.  Merideth Lewis Jr was born May 1882 in Copiah County, Beauregard, MS. Merideth married Emerline Bullock. Emerline was born 1883 in Pike county, McComb, MS in McComb, Pike, Mississippi, United States and died 2000 in New Orleans La in New Orleans, Orleans, Louisiana, United States, at age 117.

        xii.  Amos Lewis was born Mar 1884 in Copiah county, Beauregard, Ms and died 1968 in Tulsa, Okla. Amos married Sallie in Mississippi. Sallie was born 1886 in Virginia.

       xiii.  Eliza J. Lewis was born in 1876 in Beauregard, Mississippi Copiah County. Eliza married Edward Tyner in Copiah County, Wesson, Copiah, Mississippi, United States. Edward was born in 1870 in Mississippi and died in 1926 in Edwards, Hinds, Mississippi, United States, at age 56.

        xiv.  Eddie Lewis (of another mother) Lewis Sr. was born 1898 in Wesson, MS and died 1995 in Wesson, Ms, at age 97. Eddie married Ora Belle Walters In Copiah, County, Wesson, Ms. Ora was born 1903 in Mississippi and died 1979 in Wesson, MS, at age 76.

3. Millie "Big Granny" Richardson .

Millie Richardson (known as Big Granny)

Millie Richardson known as "Big Granny" On our Great-grandmother's side was born in slavery the year of 1800, in route from the north to the south at the Mason Dixie Line in a slave trader's wagon. They camped there for three days during her birth. When they arrived in Mississippi, the first slave owner that purchased them did not keep them long. The slave master name is unknown. He resold them to a slave owner by the name of Lucinda Lewis. Big Granny stayed on her plantation until she was freed. Her mother was an African woman that was mated by a chick-a-saw Indian. During the time she was a slave up north or in route to the south.


Big Granny was the mother of Lucinda Richardson. After Big Granny was freed she lived on a farm with her daughter (Lucinda) and her husband, Meredith. Later in years was blind from old age. During her stay on the farm, she was given a blood test to see if she had any Indian blood in her. The test provide to be positive. Big Granny was tall, dark brown skin with high cheek bones. She lived to be 109 years of age. She was born in slavery but died a free woman during the year of 1909.

Millie married someone.
